This pack aims to be one of the hardest but most rewarding experiences on CurseForge! There is no shame in turning down the difficulty level! The pack is focused on quality over quantity, and keeps the vanilla spirit! Thank you all for downloading the pack and for all the kind messages and feedback!
Thank you so much 580 000 downloads!! Holy moly that is a lot π€―π€©
This pack always tries to be on the bleeding edge of Minecraft releases, and updates come for multiple Minecraft versions in parallel.
Right now, the 1.20.1 version of the pack is the one I recommend because of its maturity and well-rounded selection of mods! For Minecraft versions newer than 1.20.1 it is very early and complicated because of Game Drops, and those will lack many mods for a long time
SF's vision:
- Mods with good textures that fit the Vanilla style
- Mods that makes the gameplay harder
- Mods that makes the gameplay more rewarding
- Mods that are well balanced with other mods in the pack
- Mods that extend the exploration aspects of Minecraft
- If a mod does not add anything new, useful or unique to the game, it will not be added to keep the pack relatively lightweight
(A few mods might be heavily configured to fit the modpack's vision)
A benefit of this pack being lightweight, is that it works well with shaders! π Here are some beautiful sights with the SEUS Renewed shaders!

Here are some older non-shader screenshots:

Just a few examples of what this modpack offer:
- New ways to navigate your world! You can now wall-jump, wall-slide and grab edges!
- Much tougher mobs and more threats in your world!
- New dungeons to explore, and hard challenges to overcome!
- A great focus on quality over quantity - less is more!
- A beautiful new Overworld to explore!
- Many quality of life improvements, like a toolbelt to quickly change between tools with a radial menu!
Progression and challenges!

Server/BisectHosting
Slightly Vanilla is sponsored by BisectHosting! π This is exciting because it means that we have an official server for you to play on, and best of all; a code for a great deal on your next Minecraft server!
Server IP: 162.33.24.230:25565
(The server is the 1.16.5 - 2.5.0 version!)
If you want to make a server of your own, you can use code "ramoddi" to save 25% off your first month!
They make it super simple, and they support modpacks, mine included! (I recommend a plan with at least 4gb RAM for my modpack)
Making a Slightly Vanilla Flavoured server with them is super easy! π
I highly recommend them! They have 24/7 support, and have helped me whenever I have had questions or wanted help!

FAQ
Q: Can you add X mod to the pack?
A: The best place to ask for mod suggestions is the Discord’s "mod suggestions" page! I am pretty strict and follow the “SVF's vision” bullet points very closely! I tend to reject a lot of mod suggestions, even though many of the mods are great. I LOVE getting mod suggestions from you guys! π (Also, do keep the suggestions to a sensible amount!)
I do my best to make this pack feel as focused as I can make it!
As they say: Less is more!
Q: I found a bug!
A: Thank you for telling me about it! The best place to share bugs is on my Discord, as there I can more quickly ask more questions if I need to!
Q: Can I stream this pack / make videos with this pack?
A: Yes, feel free! I would also looove to see it if you want to share it! π
Q: Do you have a server file?
A: As I am 1 person and can’t spend as much time as I would like making things like server files for each release. I am sorry for that, but I try my best to give you 3 options!
The simplest: We have an official server to play on! IP: 23.94.150.4:25565
If you travel a bit from spawn it feels like playing on a private survival server!- The second simplest: The amazing people at BisectHosting has automatic set-up of my pack on their server hosting! It costs a bit of money though (Use the code "ramoddi" to save 25% off the first month!). It’s dead simple and they have 24/7 support! Every time I have been stuck or had questions, I have contacted them, and their help is fantastic!
- The least simplest: Making the server pack yourself! I recommend googling “how to make a server pack minecraft”, as that has helped people figuring it out in the past!
The best way to get the mod-.jars and configs is to download the modpack from the Twitch Launcher, and open the folder from the settings there! There you will find the "mods" folder and the "config" folder.
We have a helpful Discord where you can ask for help!
The Ultimate Guide to Slightly Flavoured: Everything You Need to Know
If you are exploring the vast and endlessly customizable world of Minecraft, you have likely heard of Slightly Flavoured. Created by the talented developer Ramoddi, this highly sought-after mod has taken the community by storm. But what exactly makes Slightly Flavoured so special, and why are millions of players integrating it into their daily gameplay? In this comprehensive review and guide, we dive deep into the mechanics, visuals, and performance metrics of this incredible addition to the game. Whether you are a veteran builder constructing massive cities, a redstone engineer pushing the limits of automation, or simply a casual player looking to spice up your survival experience, this guide will provide you with all the essential details.
What It Does
At its core, Slightly Flavoured completely transforms the way you interact with Minecraft. Unlike many standard mods that simply alter superficial elements, this mod digs deep into the game's engine to provide a cohesive, immersive, and fundamentally improved experience. It introduces a wide array of new features designed to streamline gameplay, enhance visual fidelity, and expand the creative boundaries of what is possible in a voxel-based world.
By installing Slightly Flavoured, players gain access to entirely new mechanics that seamlessly blend into the vanilla aesthetic. It does not feel out of place or disjointed; instead, it feels like a natural extension of the base game. The developer, Ramoddi, has spent countless hours refining the code to ensure that every aspect of the mod feels polished, responsive, and engaging. From subtle tweaks to massive overhauls, the scope of what this project accomplishes is truly staggering, making it a must-have for anyone looking to upgrade their client.
Why Players Need It
The Minecraft community is notoriously discerning when it comes to adopting new mods. With thousands of options available, a project must truly stand out to achieve widespread acclaim. Slightly Flavoured achieves this by addressing some of the most common pain points and limitations found in the vanilla game. Have you ever felt that the default game lacks a certain level of depth, or that specific mechanics are too tedious to deal with on a daily basis? This mod solves those exact issues.
Players need Slightly Flavoured because it acts as a massive quality-of-life improvement. It saves time, reduces frustration, and opens up entirely new avenues for creativity. Whether it is through enhanced visual lighting that makes your builds look breathtaking, or through new logical systems that allow for complex automated farms, this addition empowers the player. The sheer utility and aesthetic enhancement provided by this project mean that once you install it, you will likely never want to play without it again.
Installation Guide
Getting Slightly Flavoured up and running on your Minecraft client is a straightforward process, but it requires careful attention to detail to avoid compatibility issues. Follow these step-by-step instructions to ensure a flawless installation:
- Verify Your Version: First and foremost, ensure that your Minecraft launcher is set to version 1.21.5, as this is the primary supported version for the current release.
- Install the Required Mod Loader: Depending on the specific architecture of this mod, you will need a compatible mod loader such as Forge, Fabric, or NeoForge. Download the installer from their official website and run it.
- Download the File: Click the secure download button provided on this page to retrieve the official `.jar` or `.zip` file for Slightly Flavoured. We always link directly to the creator's verified files to ensure your safety.
- Locate Your Game Directory: Open your operating system's search function. On Windows, type `%appdata%/.minecraft`. On Mac, navigate to `~/Library/Application Support/minecraft`.
- Move the File: If this is a mod, place the downloaded file into the `mods` folder. If it is a shader, place it in `shaderpacks`. For textures, place it in `resourcepacks`.
- Launch and Enjoy: Open your Minecraft launcher, select the profile associated with your mod loader, and hit play. Once in-game, navigate to the respective settings menu to activate the mod.
Compatibility
One of the strongest selling points of Slightly Flavoured is its robust compatibility profile. The developer, Ramoddi, has worked tirelessly to ensure that this project plays nicely with the broader Minecraft ecosystem. It is explicitly designed for version 1.21.5, meaning it takes full advantage of the latest engine optimizations and feature additions introduced by Mojang.
Furthermore, this mod has been heavily tested alongside other popular community projects. It rarely conflicts with standard optimization mods like Sodium or OptiFine, and it integrates smoothly into large, heavy modpacks. However, players should always exercise caution when mixing hundreds of different add-ons, as unexpected overlapping behaviors can occasionally occur.
Pros and Cons
Pros β
- Significantly enhances the vanilla gameplay loop.
- Highly optimized for version 1.21.5.
- Actively maintained and updated by Ramoddi.
- Excellent compatibility with major modpacks.
- Completely free to use and community-supported.
Cons β
- May require a decently powerful CPU/GPU for maximum settings.
- Initial setup can be tricky for absolute beginners.
- Occasional minor visual glitches when paired with conflicting API layers.
Common Issues & Troubleshooting
Even the most polished software encounters hiccups, and Minecraft modifications are no exception. If you run into trouble while using Slightly Flavoured, do not panic. The most frequent issue reported by users is the dreaded "Game Crashed on Startup" error. In 90% of cases, this is caused by a version mismatchβdouble-check that you have downloaded the file specifically tailored for Minecraft 1.21.5.
Another common scenario involves missing dependencies. Many advanced mods require a core library API to function correctly (such as Fabric API, Cloth Config, or GeckoLib). Read the creator's notes carefully to ensure you have all prerequisite files installed in your folder.
Performance Impact
Performance is often the primary concern for players when modifying their game. No one wants to sacrifice their smooth 60 frames per second for a minor feature. Fortunately, Slightly Flavoured is incredibly well-optimized. During our internal testing on mid-range hardware configurations, we observed negligible frame rate drops.
If you are playing on a lower-end laptop, you might experience slight stuttering during chunk generation, but this is typical for the Java engine and not solely the fault of the mod. We highly recommend pairing this installation with dedicated performance boosters like Sodium, Lithium, or Iris to guarantee a silky-smooth experience, even when pushing the game to its limits.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Is Slightly Flavoured safe to download?
Yes, absolutely. We only link to verified, virus-scanned files hosted directly by the original author, Ramoddi, on trusted platforms like CurseForge and Modrinth.
Can I use this on a multiplayer server?
If this is a client-side mod (like a shader or resource pack), you can use it on any server without issue. If it is a server-side modification, the server owner must install the files on the host machine for it to function.
Does it cost money?
No, this project is completely free to download and use. However, if you enjoy the work, consider supporting Ramoddi through their official donation links or Patreon.
