This RP does not work with optifine or sodium.
About the pack
Spook is a resource pack making use of core shaders to add a spooky vibe to the game, without having to use optifine/iris.
What this RP adds:
- Desaturated colour with red tint
- A red UI
- A dark, close fog around the player
- Slight effects to mobs with emissive eye rendering
Known issues:
- Items held are completely black on inventory preview
- Fog does not apply to sign text
- Entities ignore fog when further away from the player (more noticable in newer updates)
The Ultimate Guide to Spook

With over 15,054 downloads, it has become a staple for players looking to enhance their experience. As the creator describes it, this project is "A vanilla shader that makes Minecraft look more mysterious". Whether you are a veteran builder constructing massive cities, or simply a casual player looking to upgrade your survival world, this guide will provide you with all the essential details on how Spook alters the game.
What Makes It Special?
Unlike standard shaders that simply alter superficial elements, Spook introduces a wide array of visual and mechanical features designed to seamlessly blend into the vanilla aesthetic. Electronacl has clearly spent significant time refining the project to ensure that every aspect feels polished and responsive for version 1.21.1.

Compatibility & Performance
Compatibility is robust. Spook is designed specifically for version 1.21.1, taking full advantage of the latest engine optimizations. During typical gameplay, this addition maintains a stable frame rate, though lower-end laptops might experience slight stuttering. We recommend pairing this with performance boosters like Sodium or Iris to guarantee a silky-smooth experience.
