Best Addons for the Create Mod
Published: July 11, 2026 · 6 min read
Create is one of the most beloved mods in Minecraft's history, turning the game into an elaborate mechanical engineering sandbox where you build functional machines using gears, pulleys, conveyor belts, and rotational power. The base mod is already extraordinarily deep, but its open architecture has spawned a rich ecosystem of addons that expand it into entirely new directions. Here are the best ones worth installing.
Create: Crafts & Additions
This addon adds an electricity layer to Create. You can generate Forge Energy (the standard energy unit used by dozens of other mods) from Create's rotational power, effectively bridging Create with the broader tech-mod ecosystem. It adds electric motors that run on FE instead of rotation, and charge pads that run machines. If you want to combine Create with mods like Thermal Expansion or Applied Energistics, this addon is the essential connector.
Create: Steam 'n' Rails
Create already includes trains in its base mod, but Steam 'n' Rails dramatically expands the rail system. It adds larger locomotives, new rail types, signals, switches, and a more robust train scheduling system. If you enjoy building expansive rail networks across your world, this addon turns Create's train system into something approaching a full rail simulation. The attention to visual detail — proper locomotive physics and animated pistons — is outstanding.
Create: Enchantment Industry
This addon solves one of the most tedious parts of Minecraft: the XP grind for enchanting. Create: Enchantment Industry lets you automate the enchanting process entirely through Create's fluid system. You can extract XP from sources, store it in tanks, and pump it into an automated enchanting setup. It keeps the enchanting mechanic meaningful while removing the repetitive clicking involved in manual grinding.
Create: Deco
Create: Deco is aimed at builders rather than engineers. It adds a large collection of decorative blocks that match Create's industrial aesthetic — copper pipes, iron grating, bolted panels, industrial furniture. All of Create's machines are beautiful in their own right; Deco gives you the matching architectural pieces to build factories that look as good as they function.
Getting Started
All of these addons require the base Create mod and Forge (most are not yet ported to Fabric). Install them by placing their .jar files in your mods folder alongside Create itself. If you are new to Create, consider working through the in-game Ponder system (shift-right-click any Create block with a wrench) before adding addons — understanding the base mechanics makes the addons far more usable.
